BCI Ride West 1000

BCI Lawyers proudly announces the inaugural BCI Ride West 1000 in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section)

The goal and the charity

The aim is to raise at least $75,000.00 in 2010 to donate to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section) (RFDS).

To achieve this, we have organised 33 riders each with sponsorship of a minimum of $2,500 to cycle from Brisbane to Longreach over a ten day period. Committed riders include BCI Directors Les Hancock and Mark Dillman. There will be community engagement along the way.

The ride couples a difficult physical challenge with a fantastic outback adventure. Most importantly, the ride will benefit a very worthy cause by injecting much needed funds into the invaluable work of the RFDS.

The Ride

The ride will take 10 days and begin in Brisbane from Lindsay Australia Limited’s premises at Rocklea. It will then proceed through Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Roma, Mitchell, Augathella, Tambo, Blackall, Barcaldine and then finishing in Longreach.

We will head off from Brisbane on Friday 7 May 2010 and finish in Longreach on Sunday 16 May 2010. Riders will return to Brisbane by QantasLink on 17 May 2010, or can stay on in Longreach for a couple of extra days to explore what Longreach has to offer.

The riding schedule is attached below.

The Sponsors/Organisers

BCI Lawyers, a Brisbane-based law firm with regional offices in Bundaberg and Longreach, are the major sponsors and organisers.

The event is also proudly supported by Lindsay Australia Limited, National Australia Bank, A'qto and Black Toyota.

BCI Lawyers understands the importance and significance of the work of the RFDS, the increasing services the RFDS provides residents, tourists and visitors to the more remote parts of Queensland and how desirable it is to raise and contribute money to this wonderful and essential service.
